La lotta tra popoli, l’ incontro e lo scontro, l’Oriente e Occidente,  sono i temi centrali della identità nazionale e della appartenenza.  

Questa meravigliosa ed emozionante scultura di Tamara Kvesitaze, “Ali e Nino” ,  due umanità provenienti da mondi diversi, un ragazzo azerbaigiano musulmano  e una ragazza georgiana cristiana che si fondono e si separano, rievoca l’identità di quello che siamo.

Una identità che non deve essere vista in modo statico ma in continua evoluzione, alimentata dall’interazione tra le diverse culture che la compongono.

La fusione momentanea delle due figure è metafora di speranza e di possibilità, un momento di armonia in cui le differenze tra culture, tra religioni e tradizioni, seppur lentamente come accade nella storia  delle civiltà, possono essere una opportunità di coesistenza pacifica e di arricchimento reciproco tra mondi diversi.

Unity in diversity.

The struggle between peoples, the encounter and the clash, the East and the West, are the central themes of national identity and belonging. This wonderful sculpture by Tamara Kvesitaze, “Ali and Nino,” depicts two humanities from different worlds, an Azerbaijani Muslim boy and a Georgian Christian girl who merge and separate, evoking the identity of who we are. An identity that should not be seen in a static way but in continuous evolution, fueled by the interaction between the different cultures that comprise it. The momentary fusion of the two figures is a metaphor of hope and possibility, a moment of harmony in which the differences between cultures, religions, and traditions, albeit slowly as it happens in the history of civilizations, can be an opportunity for peaceful coexistence and mutual enrichment between different worlds.
